Stanly County Real Estate is located between Cabarrus County and Montgomery County in the North Carolina Piedmont region. As of 2000, the population was 58,100. It has a total area of 404 square miles with nine of those being water.  The county is divided into ten townships: Almond, Big Lick, Center, Endy, Furr, Harris, North Albemarle, Ridenhour, South Albemarle, and Tyson. It is home to the following towns: Albemarle, Badin, Locust, New London, Norwood, Oakboro, Richfield, Stanfield, Misenheimer and Red Cross. 

 

Stanly County Real Estate History                                    

Stanly County was formed in 1841 from part of Montgomery County west of the Pee Dee River. It was named for John Stanly who served several terms in the North Carolina House of Commons and two terms in the United States House of Representatives.

Stanly County is home to Pfeiffer University Misenheimer, NC and Stanly Community College. Pfeiffer is a comprehensive United Methodist-related university, with multiple campuses that are committed to educational excellence, service, and scholarship. The University is has several campuses, with its primary campus at home in Mesenheimer, NC in Stanly County. Stanly Community College is located in Albemarle, NC and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

According to the Stanly County School District web site, “Our schools will be a world-class system of excellence, ensuring success for every student while improving the quality of life for our community in an ever-changing world.”  Stanly County Schools has 9300 students and strives to improve student achievement, serve a crucial role in the community, build great citizens, help children stay healthy, and manage a student body that is more diverse.
