Salisbury Real Estate

Salisbury Real Estate is located in Rowan County and is actually the county seat. It is home to US Senator Elizabeth Dole and NBA star Bobby Jackson. It is also home to the famous North Carolina soda called Cheerwine. This town with a growing population of over 25,000 is known for large historic homes and mansions as well as a number of new developments. With only an average of six inches of snow, this area boasts southern charm and climate. Many pleasant days await your family in this central North Carolina town.

Salisbury Real Estate and Education

The town of Salisbury is serviced by the Rowan County school district and hosts a number of educational options
including a number of private schools and religious private schools. It is also home to Catawba college, Livingston College, and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

Salisbury Real Estate History
Salisbury dates back to 1755, and was a bustling village of log cabins, a courthouse and jail at the crossroads. From that small village in 1755, Salisbury grew to a small town and is now a small city with charm and amenities. It is still located at important North Carolina crossroads of I-85, U.S. 29, 52, 70, 601 and N.C. 150. For nearly 250 years Salisbury has been recognized for its beautiful downtown architecture and considered one of the best places in the Carolinas for shopping, sightseeing and relaxing. The Salisbury Historic Heritage Tour has near 140 places to visit, including the
Conrad Brem House built in 1825, the Meroney Theatre, built in 1905 and restored in 1995, and the Empire Hotel, which boasted a domed ballroom on the top floor. This is certainly a town rich in history but with an eye on the future, as well.

Salisbury Real Estate Development

In 2001, the city of Salisbury created a master 20 year plan for the downtown real estate area, hoping to keep the award-winning development and historical richness in balance as well as continue a tradition of excellence and success for local businesses. This included new urban-style living in the downtown area in addition to the historic homes surrounding the downtown shopping district.
