Mooresville, NC Real Estate
Mooresville Real Estate

Between Charlotte and Statesville and just northwest of Kannapolis, Mooresville Real Estate is just off Interstate 77 in Iredell County. It’s only 30 miles north of the Queen City, making it a desirable place for some commuters to consider. More affordable than a lot of Charlotte areas, Mooresville Homes for Sale could be right for you.

Mooresville is business-friendly and home to Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, wrybaby.com, 60 NASCAR Racing teams, and the NASCAR Technical Institute. That why the city has obtained the nickname of “Race City USA.”

Mooresville Real Estate History

Like many North Carolina towns, Mooresville began as a railroad stopping point for weighing cotton in 1856. It was named after John Franklin Moore, who was a plantation owner. In 1873 the town incorporated with 25 families. The town continued to grow with the rest of North Carolina’s growing textile mills and furniture industries. Mooresville was actually home to a professional minor league baseball team for a time in the late 1930’s. Two members of the team were elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Mooresville Educational System

The Mooresville Graded School System and the Iredell-Statesville School System both service families living in the Mooresville Real estate region. One of the Mooresville District’s most recent goals is that every student have a Macbook laptop by the year 2010. With population growth, plans are in the works for a new Intermediate School and moving other students into freshman academy for current high schoolers in the grade. Mooresville is also home to Mitchell Community College.

Mooresville Real Estate and Recreation

Mooresville Recreation and Parks Department provides facilities, leagues and programs for residents. It offers nine parks including tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts, lighted ball fields as well as volleyball, badminton and basketball. Additionally, Mooresville is working on expanding green space and downtown redevelopment.
