Monroe Real Estate

Monroe Real Estate

Monroe Real Estate is located in Union County, just 30 minutes southeast of downtown Charlotte and only three hours from popular Atlantic Coast Beach destinations. No wonder the population continues to grow to over 30,000.  Monroe also serves as the county seat for Union County. With rolling pastures, winding roads and a friendly downtown, Monroe offers a nice retreat from the big city of Charlotte. You can shop the historic Main Street, visit area fruit and vegetable markets or fish for bass. You can hike down greenways or ride horses down trails.

Monroe Real Estate Historic Places

An 1886 Victorian Courthouse still stands in downtown Monroe. It is located in the central square of the city along with County and city government building, small boutiques and shops, restaurants and businesses. Nearby restored historic homes give you a feeling that people care about this community and its heritage and history.

Located along Highway 74, this town sees many amenities including major restaurants and shopping chains. Yet, Monroe Real Estate yields charm, as it is surrounded by farmland and rolling hills within minutes of the city limits. You can watch a movie with the family during the summer in the plaza downtown, or enjoy some good old fashioned water fun at the Monroe Aquatics and Fitness Center. For the avid golfer, there are both public and private options to choose from including the Monroe Country Club which was designed by Donald Ross, Stonebridge Golf Club or Rolling Hill Country Club.

But that’s not all Monroe contains. It is the hometown of Jesse Helms, the late US Senator from North Carolina who served five terms from 1973 to 2003 in the Senate. Senator Helms played a key role in the election of president Ronald Reagan and the late great Senator’s father was Police Chief of Monroe for years. A center honoring senator Helms history and service is located in Wingate, NC.
